Family Events Culture Night 2016This Friday our galleries, museums and arts organisations throw open their doors, inviting you to participate and have fun with Dublin’s Culture. With an enormous amount of free events on, it can be a bit daunting so we’ve put together our Top 5 to help you out. Remember these fantastic cultural spaces are open all year round – this is not your only chance.
Unfortunately there is a bus strike but the folks at QPark are offering 4 parking from 4pm – midnight. More information and booking here

Smithfield Square Playground
The square will be transformed  into a land of discovery. Try drumming, capoeira, salsa and hip-hop dancing, Makeshop Doodlebot workshops for youngsters, Tetrahedron structure build along with a 3D map of Dublin, fencing, an art zone and a whole area dedicated to mouth-watering international and domestic gourmet food. The evening finishes with a firefly performance.

Shorts for wee ones at Pavilion Theatre
A gorgeous selection of shorts for younger audiences. ‘You’ll meet a baby lamb who definitely thinks outside the field, an elephant who dreams of riding a shiny new bicycle and a cartoon stick-man who refuses to stay on the page’

A programme of lovingly selected shorts suitable for all ages. This is always very popular, get their early!

Dublin Castle
RTE are hosting a cultural party in Dublin Castle for Culture Night. Enjoy open air concerts, performances, music, theatre and prose. There’ll be a host of workshops – we picked out All Through The Night workshops (Castle Hall, 5pm, 6pm, 7pm & 8pm) where kids can create their own nocturnal creature (ages 3-12)
