Family Events Dublin Book Festival 2016Immerse yourselves in a celebration of books at this years Dublin Book Festival. With an expanding children’s programme, there are some lovely events that are really worth checking out.

The Winter Garden
A lovely cosy spot in Smock Alley where families are encouraged to curl up on a beanbag with a book. Take part in free story-telling time or a workshop.

Treasure Hunt
Sign the family up for a fun treasure hunt around Temple Bar. Follow the clues and pick-up a prize.

The Big Draw
Join in a mammoth drawing session where artists big and small will bring Storyville to life. Draw your favourite characters and help create a giant artwork, which will be displayed in the Winter Garden all weekend.

The Ghosts of Magnificent Children’s Creepy Tales and Haunted Houses
Join Caroline Busher author of The Ghosts of Magnificent Children for a session where you’ll meet some of the ghastly ghosts unique to Irish myths and legends. Then learn how to write your own ghost story.

Nature’s Hidden Adventures Writing Workshop
A fun workshop for nature and reading enthusiasts. Do you know what animals are living in your garden or in the local park? Join author Shane Casey and learn how to write stories about the natural world.
