Happenings and Nialler9 present outdoor music gig

Sunday 6th July

Live Music in Fitzwilliam SquareFollowing on from last year’s outdoor concert in which hundreds of people turned up in Fitzwilliam Square to witness the sounds of party merchants Booka Brass Band and soothing soul of Somerville, Happenings and Nialler9 present a special new Irish music double bill for the summer of 2015.

Ájo Arkestra are a big collective of musicians who know how to get a party started with their uptown downtown African funk – drawing from the rich heritage of soul, funk and rock of the African continent.

Joining them, is the Antrim singer-songwriter Ciaran Lavery with the reputation for delivering stunning Damien Rice-style acoustic performances anchored by a charming and surreal comedian-level of banter in-between songs. Lavery was recently on the cover of Hot Press and also makes moving folk-tronica with Ryan Vail as Sea Legs.

The gig will take place on Sunday afternoon in the beautiful private park of Fitzwilliam Square. Families and all-ages are welcome.

Summer bites of falafel, locally sourced burgers and creamy coffees will be there on the day courtesy of Irish Village Markets.

When: 3pm – 6pm, Sunday 6th July
Where: Fitzwilliam Square, Dublin 2
How much: Tickets €10, available on the gate.
Ages: All ages.
